Consignments

The Consignments section lets you manage products that are placed on consignment — items owned by a third party that you sell on their behalf.

How Consignment Works

When a consignor brings in items to sell through your store:

  1. The items are added to your inventory and flagged as consignment products.
  2. When sold, the system tracks the sale and calculates the store's commission.
  3. The consignor receives the proceeds minus your commission.

Managing Consignments

Go to Inventory > Consignments to view and manage all consignment items and agreements.

  • View active consignment items
  • Track which items have sold
  • Monitor commission amounts

Category-Level Settings

Consignment behavior is configured at the Category level:

  • Is Consignment: Mark a category as consignment to flag all products within it.
  • Commission Rate: Set the store's commission percentage for that category.

Go to Inventory > Category to configure these settings.

Tips

  • Set up dedicated categories for consignment items to keep commission tracking clean.
  • Review consignment sales regularly to ensure timely payouts to consignors.
  • Use the commission rate at the category level to standardize your terms.
